From The Brink – A Collection of Ink

10 places are available for “from the brink – A collection of ink” 09

‘Brink Collective Youth Arts Project Creation’, in association with The ‘Vancouver Art Center’ Present ‘From the Brink – A Collection of Ink”.

‘From the brink’ is an amazing opportunity for young emerging artists or arts enthusiasts between the ages of 16 – 21 to work alongside other young creative’s and professional artists to develop their skills and have their work shown publicly.

A series of laid back workshops will be held at Albany’s arts and cultural hub, the Vancouver art center during the month of December 2009 focused solely on the theme of ink and aiming to further develop and enhance the skills of young people.. Brink Collectives Project Coordinators have chosen quality, professional artists who will teach participants new skills and techniques and provide a valuable insight into the making of their own works.

From the brink boasts a non structured environment where participants can work at there own pace, where the onus is that they may engage as they wish, but engage. The aim is that at the conclusion of the nine sessions, participants will have built up a collection of ink drawings to be displayed at an exhibition at the Vancouver art center in January.

Thanks to the support of our sponsors, Country Arts WA, The Department of culture and the arts, Healthway, Drug Aware and YCulture, as well as the in-kind donation of venue and advertising from the Vancouver art center, it wont cost you anything to be a part of this project, it is absolutely FREE!!

WELCOME

Heloo, Welcome to The FIRST EVER Brink Collective Blog
Brink Collective is basicaly a fledgling orginisation (it hasnt even been running for a week) that consists of young people with a passion for the arts, working hard to get arts projects up and running and give a breath of fresh air to their arts community.
our first project is on its marry way to fruition and we are all verry exited

the first project is called 'From The Brink - A Collection of ink' and is what some would call a horse - before - cart project as we had the project planned well before the orginisation.

'From the brink - a collection of ink' consits of a three hour session based project where selected participants will explore the medium of ink in its many forms. the project will run in three sessions a week, for three weeks in decemeber 2009 with artists Sue Codee, Sandy O'Doherty and Trish Ware.
